Worth the Work

When I remember

I think Pixar and road trips

The things that made Us.

Santa Fe Trails

Not quite memories,

This place where love was growing,

But Past met our end.

Cascades and Cures

When will this dam break,

And the past wash upon me?

This storm brings new life.

Remind me of things,

Things that have been forgotten.

Things that need an end.

Out of a Muddy Death

Ophelia swims!
Just when you thought you’d drowned me,
I came up for air.

Sex, Food and Haiku

Recalling the past.
All chaos and grub-crawling.
The best sex ever.

Pain, Past, and Protest Songs

With you my heart stopped
But “times they are a changin'”
Au revoir, Triste.

Once upon a time…
We could have been so different,
Then there was the past.

Haiku of Late

The lid has come off
And the monster is about.
What will I find next?

The Sweet Psalm of the Subjected

The Sweet Psalm of the Subjected

Oh them youthful infatuations.
Keepin’ our heads all clouded,
And our actions sedate.
Feelin’ nothin’ but that sweet sweet oppression
drippin’ slowly into our mouths
Just like tupelo honey.

But if there be two persons
There’ll always be three versions
And that third friend’ll be called Truth.

Cause the mirror be reflectin’
Only what this mind wanna see,
And that ain’t no “Fun House” mirror,
Just pretty pink lies,
made up by some age-weary mind.
So we might hold on longer to them youthful infatuations.

But oh! How bout them youthful infatuations?
Them kept our heads clouded
And our actions sedate.
Cause back them we cared about nothin’,
Nothin’ but that sweet sweet oppression
Drippin’ slowly into our mouths
Just like tupelo honey.
