I really like this one. “Let’s try” said the heart. But I wonder… I think for me my pride says “let’s try” also. Then again, maybe it depends on what the meaning of pride is.
Let try using the actual definition, then there isn’t room for debate on terminology.
Pride keeps “us” from looking stupid. It does not say “try” during risk, it says, “take the easy road, the one that makes me appear ‘best'”. It does not care about vulnerability, commitment, or love. It is self serving.
I disagree with you, but I’m glad you like the poem.
